About me

A passion that became a profession.

My journey with genealogy began at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, when I returned with my family to our hometown for several months. Time spent among familiar places and memories awakened my curiosity and a desire to find answers to family mysteries. Each discovery brought growing satisfaction, and genealogy quickly became my passion.

Over time, I deepened my knowledge, discovered new sources, and learned research methods. That is when Pani Włościanka was born - a project through which I share stories of ordinary people with extraordinary pasts, interesting facts from historical records, and stories about life in the countryside.

As Pani Włościanka, I have had the opportunity to speak about genealogy and rural history in the media, including the TV program “Pytanie na śniadanie”, as well as on Radio Lublin, Radio Czwórka, and in the press.

From this passion grew a desire to develop professionally as well. I completed postgraduate studies “Genealogy. Theory and Practice” at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw - the only program of its kind in Poland. These studies provided me with a solid foundation for conducting independent genealogical research and helping others discover the history of their families.

Today I combine passion with professional work - creating family trees, providing consultations, translating historical documents, and telling stories of the past in a way that restores the memory of those who came before us.

I invite you to embark on a shared journey into the history of your family - a journey full of discoveries, emotions, and stories preserved in documents and memory.

"I was recently trying to find information about my grandparents, cousins and other relatives in small towns in Belarus that likely perished during the Holocaust. Pani was recommended as someone who could assist in my search for information. I reached out to her over email, she quickly replied, and she's been very helpful in finding information that I wasn't able to find on my own. She's been a pleasure to deal with, and I have very much enjoyed our interactions. I give Pani very high recommendations for anyone trying to find information about family members in Eastern Europe."

The story of how Aron Cukerstein became Józef Kwieciński.

A change of religion today is often seen as a personal decision. In the past, it meant much more. It was a profound social, cultural, and sometimes even legal transformation. That is why, in genealogy, a change of faith can be a real challenge. Suddenly, ancestors “disappear” from the records of one parish and appear […]

From the “It Really Happened” Series

Complaints, grievances, denunciations, requests for intervention. Today they are often associated with online comments, letters to authorities, or neighborly disputes. One might think this is a phenomenon of our times. Yet all it takes is a glance at the archives to see that people have been complaining… forever. In old official records, hundreds of similar […]

One Folder, and Inside It – Testimonies of the War Years

I spent a good two days going through the documents in this folder. More than once, tears welled up in my eyes. Because these documents are a vivid picture of World War II in the Biłgoraj county. Stories partly familiar to me, but also entirely new facts – written down in the heat of the […]
