I translate documents written in the languages in which records were historically created in the territories of Poland – depending on the period and the partition under which the records were produced.

I work with materials written in:
Latin,
Russian (in historical Cyrillic script),
German (including Kurrent handwriting).

I offer two forms of translation of vital records, adapted to the different needs of people conducting genealogical research.

Record Summary

A concise translation containing all key information: dates, places, and personal details. Repetitive administrative formulas that do not provide additional genealogical information are omitted. The summary remains fully sufficient and allows for a clear understanding of the document’s content.

Full Record Translation

An extended version for those who wish to understand every element of the entry. This includes all clerical formulas, characteristic expressions of the period, and the structure of the original document.

"I was recently trying to find information about my grandparents, cousins and other relatives in small towns in Belarus that likely perished during the Holocaust. Pani was recommended as someone who could assist in my search for information. I reached out to her over email, she quickly replied, and she's been very helpful in finding information that I wasn't able to find on my own. She's been a pleasure to deal with, and I have very much enjoyed our interactions. I give Pani very high recommendations for anyone trying to find information about family members in Eastern Europe."
